Manuel Figueroa
Founder & Principal
Manuel “Manny” Figueroa is the founder of Fig Street Capital and brings a disciplined, operations-focused background to the long-term ownership of a small business. His career began in the U.S. Army as a cryptologic language analyst supporting intelligence operations with the NSA, where he developed the principles that guide his leadership today: integrity, accountability, and operational rigor.
Manny earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and later completed an MBA from The Wharton School and an MA from the Lauder Institute. His academic work explored entrepreneurship and the structural forces shaping small-business resilience, including graduate research on informal economies, remittance-driven enterprises, and long-term development dynamics in Latin America.
Professionally, Manny has held roles in strategy and operations at Amazon and Microsoft, focusing on forecasting, system design, and long-range planning within complex, high-reliability environments. These experiences equipped him with the analytical discipline and operational perspective required to lead a stable, people-centered business.
Across his education, research, and professional experience, Manny has remained focused on how strong operators build durable companies. He has collaborated on venture development efforts, studied founder-led transitions, and worked closely with small enterprises through both research and advisory contexts.
He founded Fig Street Capital with a clear mission: acquire one exceptional small business, preserve the legacy its owner created, and steward it with the same discipline, care, and long-term mindset that defined his career.
